Commissioning a portrait

Thank you for your interest! To commission a custom portrait of your pet, please get in touch via email or mobile.


Photo Requirements

The quality of your portrait depends entirely on your photo. For the best results, please supply a photo that is:

  • High resolution (large, uncompressed digital images are ideal).

  • Clear and sharp (avoid blurry, dark, or cropped photos).

  • Shot in natural light to capture your pet’s true character and details.

  • The pose in your photo will be the pose in the final portrait. I can combine separate photos into a group portrait if the images are suitable.

IMPORTANT - Please ensure that you have permission to use the photo if it is not your own.

Timescale and Delivery

  • Turnaround: Portraits typically take 10–12 days to complete, though complex backgrounds or multiple pets may take longer.

  • Deadlines: If you need the piece for a specific date, please let me know and I will try my best to accommodate it.

  • Shipping: UK orders are shipped via Royal Mail Special Delivery Guaranteed by 1pm®. Please contact me for international shipping rates.

Approval and Payment

  • Approval: Once finished, I will email you a scan of the portrait. We can make minor adjustments at this stage to ensure you are entirely happy with it.

  • Payment: After approval, I will invoice you for the final balance. Payment is due within 10 days via BACS (contact me if you need an alternative method).

  • Shipping: Your portrait will be dispatched as soon as your payment clears

​Policies, Copyright & Cancellations

  • Cancellations: If you cancel after your commission start date is confirmed, the 25% deposit is non-refundable. If I must cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, your deposit will be refunded in full.

  • Returns: Due to the custom nature of original artwork, returns are not accepted once the portrait is approved, paid for, and delivered.

  • Copyright: I retain full copyright of the artwork and reserve the right to use scans or reproductions for advertising, social media, and prints, unless you explicitly request otherwise.

  • Privacy: Your personal details and email address are safe with us and will never be shared with third parties. Please see full policy here.
